Billy Lethal & The Talespin

Story

Guitarist Billy Fell asked Kenny how he planned to make his guitars sound great,  Billy smiled when Kenny said, "We're going to turn your amp up as loud as possible!"  In the end, the album credits read like this -  "Thanks to Kenny Maciejewski and Lift Up Music for all of his inspiration and suggestions.  Also for believing in this project and all that it entailed."

Glenn

Story

No one can argue that Glenn has a voice made for rapping, but the best part of recording this track was capturing Elzie Flenard's backup vocals when he added harmonies both an octave below and two above his own voice.  We made him sing again with the studio door open to prove he wasn't using some device to hit those notes.  Vocals Produced, recorded and mixed by Kenny Maciejewski at Lift Up Music

Billy Lethal & The Talespin

Story

This track, in memory of his grandmother, was special to guitarist Billy Fell so it had to be right.  We scrapped the first two takes when we realized Bill wasn't feeling it that night and his guitar wasn't delivering the tone we all wanted.  Bill showed up a couple days later with a 70's Fender Strat, we surrounded him with lit candles and the track was done.  To maximize the interest of the mix, various delays and reverbs were used to highlight key parts of the arrangement.  Co-Produced, recorded and mixed by Kenny Maciejewski at Lift Up Music
